Easter on holidays

Top tips for booking Easter ski holiday

Why Ski at Easter?
The lifts are open later - hours of sunlight are longer too, so that you could have a very relaxed lunch and ski with the little bit longer. The Easter fortnight is popular in many resorts, but slopes in many cases are empty in comparison with peak winter dates for instance February half-term.

  1. Prices are lower - Easter is not a peak time so prices are generally lower, especially when in contrast to the February and Christmas  / New Year. Late March is often as cheap as mid-January along with April some resorts also drop their lift pass prices to the Easter ski holiday weeks. You may also grab some bargains in ski shop end-of-season-sales.
  2. It’s sunnier - this means you have longer days to ski and will wear less layers of ski clothing. It’s another great time to understand to ski - for families with small children who don’t such as the cold. It’s a lot more enjoyable creating a ski or board lesson when you’re cosy - inevitably there’s some waiting for during the initial learning stages and also a harsh winter’s day once the thermometer drops below zero this is sometimes a challenge.
  3. Al fresco lunches - wear your sunnies and T-shirts at lunchtime, splash about the the Factor 50 suncream, and take from the mountain vistas using a restaurant’s sunny terrace. If you are using a tight budget, picnic lunches become fun and quick rather than financial necessity (allowing more time around the slopes instead of waiting for your meal in the café, should you’re keen to produce the most of their time).
  4. Bluebird days - at this time there are more blue sky days, but there are snowy days - and occasionally there are many of the heavy snow falls April. Best case is usually to wake up to some clear blue sky the next day after a nights fresh snow…

Simply put, these resorts are the 3 best bets for the fantastic week’s skiing at Easter:
  1. Val Thorens - Europe’s highest resort town at 2300 metres is one of by far the most snowsure from your start from the season right the way through to May. Hedge your bets by remaining in Val Thorens, in case your late season snow is a useful one lower down too, you will find the whole 600km from the Trois Vallees ski area with your doorstep.
  2. Zermatt - Whilst Val Thorens is Europe’s highest resort village, Zermatt boasts Europe’s highest lifts, stretching up to your dizzying 3820 metres. This means entry to high snow provides improvement over anywhere else. Combine this while using ski runs for the glacier, and also the excellent snow-making facilities in resort, and you really are guaranteed amazing skiing whenever.
  3. Tignes and ’Val dIsere - Where far better to soak up some sun than within the terrace of one with the many bars and restaurants which are on the doorstep within the Espace Killy. The height these resorts guarantees usage of good skiing, as well as the great Spring atmosphere guarantees a great time.
